President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has admonished Muslim youth to mark this year’s Eid-ul Fitr with caution.

“The nation needs you alive,” he stated

This was contained in a short statement released on Wednesday to congratulate Muslims as they mark the end of Ramadan.

Muslims across the country joined their global counterparts to observe 30 days of fasting, beginning Monday, May 6.

The religious exercise, observed by Prophet Mohammed as contained in the Quran, ended on the dawn of Wednesday, June 5.

“I congratulate the Muslim Ummah of Ghana, and, by extension, the entire Muslim population of the world, for braving the pangs of hunger and thirst for an entire month.

“Besides the spiritual attainment of the month, you deserve commendation for the strict disciplinary code that you have adhered to throughout the period.”

President Akufo-Addo further stated that “our collective prayers” are accepted by Allah.

He also expressed belief that Allah will “shower His grace, mercies, and peace on our nation, and make her great and strong”.

He wished them “blissful and peaceful Eid ul-Fitr celebrations”.

“To the youth, I urge you to celebrate with caution.”
