Chief Justice justifies recommendation of 5 judges to Supreme Court, cites workload

Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo has recommended five new judges for the Supreme Court to alleviate its heavy caseload.

Her proposal to President Akufo-Addo, which includes judges currently handling significant cases like the Ato Forson ambulance trial, aims to bolster the court's capacity amid mounting case backlogs.

Torkonoo emphasized the critical need for additional judges due to the increasing number of pending cases, highlighting the judiciary's efforts to enhance efficiency and timely adjudication.
