Chiefs fine man whose son’s corpse was manhandled in viral video

The Traditional Council of Asante Akyem Akutuase in the Ashanti region has fined the father of a deceased young man whose corpse was improperly brought to the village against local customs.

The father must pay a fine of GH₵500 and provide a sheep for rituals.

Additionally, the person who recorded and circulated the video of the incident has also been fined GH₵500 and must contribute to purification rituals with two bottles of schnapps and a sheep.

The council emphasized the importance of these rituals to cleanse the community and avert potential calamities.
