Citizens will determine Ghana’s next president, not EC – Jean Mensa

Jean Mensa, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), has stressed that the authority to elect Ghana's next president lies solely with the citizens, not the EC.

Speaking at a press briefing in Accra, she clarified that the commission does not influence election outcomes.

The decision on who becomes president is entirely in the hands of Ghanaians, and the EC's role is to declare the candidate chosen by the people on December 7, 2024.
