At the 2024 Peace Campaign Event held at the State House, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh represented NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia alongside former President John Mahama and prominent clergy.

Dr. Prempeh emphasized the NPP’s commitment to Ghana’s peace and unity, advocating for a nation free from religious and ethnic divisions. He confirmed the party's intent to sign a peace pact, reflecting democratic accountability.

Mahama called for an end to the "militarization" of elections, urging the Electoral Commission and Judiciary to remain impartial, showcasing a collective effort to promote peace during the electoral period.
