The Cocoa Carriers Association has announced an indefinite sit-down strike starting Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Tema, Takoradi, and Kumasi depots of the Cocoa Marketing Company Limited.

The strike is in protest of poor working conditions.

National Chairman Raymond Atanga Abobiga urged all members to participate and clarified that they will report to work but not perform their duties until their demands are addressed.

This follows a similar strike in 2022 that left thousands of bags of cocoa beans unattended in warehouses.

The association insists it is fighting for fair treatment, not against any individual.
