The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana has announced a 15% increase in transport fares starting Monday, July 22, 2024.
This decision is primarily due to rising fuel costs, with some oil prices exceeding GH₵15, and increased prices of essential items like spare parts.
David Agboado, the association’s Public Relations Officer, highlighted the adverse effects of these rising costs on the transport sector.
He emphasized that the fare hike is necessary and stated that the Transport Ministry's approval is not required for such decisions.
