Following the recent killings of Police officers in the country, their colleagues have been urged to muster courage, soldier and serve the country which they promised to do prior to joining the service.

They have equally been asked not to let the unfortunate incidents deter them from providing their professional service to the citizenry in line of duty.

Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah (Mrs) who gave the advice, however, observed that there is the need for them to access their vulnerability to risks at certain times before making moves either to arrest or forestall crime.

“The killing of your colleagues in line of their duty should not discourage you from policing. I will, however, appeal to you that try accessing your vulnerability to risks since some of these incidents are avoidable”, she advised at the opening the Detective Training Course 4/2019 at the Detective Training Academy at Tesano in Accra.

In her view, uniformed personnel as part of their training are allowed to seek help if they realize that they are unable to contain the situation each time they are confronted with.

“Seek help if you cannot contain a situation…call for reinforcement when you realize that the situation at hand is above you and do not risk making a move alone when you know it puts you at a greater danger”, she advised.
