The Presiding Bishop of Victory Bible Church International Bishop Tackie-Yarboi says the continuous decision by the government to prevent Christians from worshipping in churches is an infringement on their right.

According to him, the right to worship is guaranteed by the constitution and nothing must be allowed to impede it.

President Akufo-Addo, through emergency powers, granted by Parliament, has placed a ban on public gathering including churches and schools following the coronavirus pandemic. The move is part of several measures the government has adopted to control the spread of the killer bug in Ghana.

Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat, the popular preacher said churches are capable of protecting their members if they are allowed to go back to worship.

“I’m advocating for the ban on churches to be lifted because my freedom of worship has been taken away from me,” he said.

He also noted he is against the use of lockdown as a strategy in fighting COVID-19.

“I’m not for lockdown, lockdown is not the best option”.
