North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has raised concerns about corruption in Ghana's scholarship programs, where political appointees and ministers compete with vulnerable citizens for scholarships.
During a press briefing, he criticized the elite for exploiting the system to secure scholarships for themselves, despite having the means to afford education.
Ablakwa announced that the next NDC government plans to introduce a law banning political appointees from benefiting from national scholarships.
This reform aims to ensure that scholarships align with national development goals and prioritize marginalized groups.
