Dr. Omane Boamah, NDC's Director of Elections, has expressed concern about the theft of the Electoral Commission's (EC) Biometric Verification Devices (BVD), speculating it could be linked to a larger criminal operation.

He questioned the EC's refusal to conduct an independent audit of the voter register and pointed out that the theft occurred under CCTV surveillance, raising suspicions about election security.

Despite these concerns, the EC has assured the public that the stolen BVD will not compromise the integrity of the 2024 elections. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the theft.
