The Cape Coast High Court has granted a stay of execution, allowing UCC Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, to resume his duties after a previous injunction barred him from his role.
The court also issued an interlocutory injunction preventing the university and its Governing Council from discussing his removal.
This ruling temporarily stabilizes the leadership dispute between Prof. Boampong and the UCC Council Chairman, who attempted to terminate his renewed term.
The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) supports Prof. Boampong’s reappointment and has called for calm while legal proceedings continue.
