The Head of WAEC's Public Affairs Unit, John Kapi, announced potential changes to the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to address Ghana’s evolving needs.
Speaking on Citi FM's Citi Breakfast Show, Kapi emphasized WAEC's preparedness and measures to maintain exam integrity. He noted that changes in the exam format might occur due to the country's growing population and manpower needs.
A proposed Free SHS bill aims to eliminate BECE as a secondary school entry requirement, creating a continuous six-year secondary education system.
Kapi urged all stakeholders to avoid exam malpractice, stressing no foreign materials or electronic gadgets in exam halls.
