Current economic woes worse than 1999-2000 crisis – Goosie Tanoh

Goosie Tanoh Goosie Tanoh

Goosie Tanoh, Chair of the NDC's Manifesto Committee on Employment and Job Creation, has criticized the Akufo-Addo administration, blaming it for worsening Ghana’s economic crisis.

Speaking on The Point of View, he compared the current situation to Ghana’s economic struggles in 1999-2000, arguing it is now far worse.

Tanoh credited the PNDC government for averting economic collapse during its tenure but lamented the systemic issues undermining progress. He stressed the need for long-term solutions rather than temporary fixes.

Tanoh also highlighted the NDC’s "24-hour economy" initiative, aimed at boosting productivity and addressing structural inefficiencies, as a transformational strategy for economic revival.

His comments come amid debates over Ghana’s leadership and economic management ahead of the 2024 elections.
