DRIP tipper truck battery stolen

A tipper truck, part of the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) in Konongo, Asante Akim Central Municipality, had its battery stolen by unknown individuals.

The truck was parked at the Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly premises while authorities awaited the completion of training for the machine operators.

The theft was discovered during a routine test on Thursday, prompting Assembly officials to report the incident to the police.

MCE Robert Yaw Kwaakye condemned the act, expressing concern that such incidents could undermine government efforts.

The Assembly has pledged to intensify surveillance to protect the equipment, while police in Konongo have launched an investigation into the matter.
