Democracy Hub: Police refute claims of forcing accused persons to re-enact protest

The Ghana Police Service has refuted claims that they coerced individuals arrested during the Democracy Hub protest to reenact the event at the 37 Intersection.

Reports suggested that some detainees were forced into this reconstruction on September 22, but the police clarified that such reconstructions are a standard practice and participants acted voluntarily.

They emphasized that the detectives involved were familiar with the case from the start.

The Democracy Hub group had organized a protest against illegal mining, resulting in over 50 arrests, with 14 protesters granted bail as of October 7.
