Dishonest Rawlings can’t call my mum a crook – Anita Desoso’s son

The son of the Vice Chairperson of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Anita Desoso has slammed ex President Rawlings after he described his mother as a crook.

The former military leader described Anita Desoso, who knelt before him to apologise and beg for forgiveness on behalf of the NDC for its ‘sins’ during the 39th anniversary of the June 4 Uprising, as a “crook”, who is fond of using cunning means to get her way.

“She’s a crook. She’s lucky I don’t talk about her that much.

“What she did was pre-planned. Yes the woman on the stage, June 4, when she went on her knees”, Mr Rawlings said at a recent event.

Mr Rawlings recalled how Ms Desoso fawned over his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, to gain favour to win the Women Organiser slot of the party in the past.

“Maybe sometimes I say the inappropriate things, I should have said it there and then [that she’s a crook]”, Mr Rawlings added.

However, Franklin Dorledzi, the Son of Anita Desoso insists ex President Rawlings has no moral rights to described her mother as a crook when the ex President himself has had several allegations leveled against him.

“This is not coming from somebody who is not holier than the Pope. This is coming from somebody whom we all know has confessed to taking $2m from Sanni Abacha, somebody whose wife has bought a factory and was sued for it. I know she wouldn’t be disturbed because that’s not what she is, I feel this is unpalatable and distasteful from an Ex President. I’m disturbed because Mr Rawlings and his family are a people who we’ve looked up to. Most definitely I demand a retraction and apology from Mr Rawlings, but I’ll not be surprised if Mr Rawlings doesn’t apologize because we know that it’s something he finds so difficult to do and he’s human like any other person be I think that’s his weakness,” he told Starr News.
