Don’t allow political party agents to observe the votes transfer exercise – EC tells its directors

The Electoral Commission (EC) has directed its Regional Directors to inform District Directors that political party agents will not be allowed to observe the ongoing transfer of votes, effective June 3.

This decision comes after clashes at district offices.

While party agents cannot observe, the EC will provide copies of the transferred vote list upon request, ensuring transparency.

The directive aims to balance order and security with the need to keep parties informed, maintaining the electoral process's integrity.
