Don’t be dodgy, release documents on sale of hotels – Afenyo-Markin tells SSNIT

Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has called on the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to release documents regarding the sale of its shares in four hotels to Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the Minister for Food and Agriculture.

SSNIT is finalising the sale of 60% of its shares in Elmina Beach Resort, Ridge Royal Hotel, La Palm Royal Beach Resort, and Labadi Beach Hotel to Rock City Hotel, owned by Acheampong.

Amid concerns about a potential conflict of interest and a petition to CHRAJ by MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Afenyo-Markin urged SSNIT to publicly clarify the deal and explain its investment decisions.
