Professor Ransford Gyampo, a Political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs to reconsider their boycott of Parliament following Speaker Alban Bagbin’s declaration of four seats vacant.
He cautioned that the NPP's absence could disrupt governance and delay crucial bills, especially with elections nearing.
Gyampo reminded the NPP that their 2020 legal misinterpretation has now backfired. He advised them to set aside emotions and collaborate with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to ensure parliamentary work is completed in the national interest, warning that the boycott could hinder essential government functions.
