Dr. Otiko Afisa Djaba, former Minister of Gender, has called for action on menstrual hygiene, denouncing the practice of "sex for menstrual hygiene essentials."
She also called for tax removal on sanitary products, local production, and a Menstrual Hygiene Management Fund.
Otiko urged government leadership, integration into programs like LEAP, and inclusion in school supplies.
She highlighted menstruation as natural and urged girls' dignity and education. Djaba emphasized on the need for collective effort to end exploitation and ensure girls' rights.
