Driver, mate narrowly escape death as tanker plunges into river

A tanker carrying diesel unfortunately skidded off the road and plunged into a river near Okuma-Akura in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti region.

The driver, Michael Asante, and his mate narrowly escaped death, suffering only minor injuries.

They were treated at Kparekpare Community Health Planning and Services compound.

The accident occurred as the driver swerved to avoid hitting a herd of cattle, causing the tanker to overturn.

Police, led by General Sergeant Zakari Asharift, quickly responded to prevent traffic congestion and transferred the fuel to another tanker to avoid a potential fire outbreak.
