Drunk or exhausted? – Ghanaians question Akufo-Addo’s demeanor in ‘birthday video’

Several Ghanaians have raised questions about the rather ‘unusual’ appearance of President Akufo-Addo in a viral video making rounds on various social media platforms.

President Akufo-Addo could be seen in the video, sending out a goodwill message on his birthday. His speech however, unlike the usual sounded slurred and his eyes barely opened.

The video which has since been shared by many has seen some members of the public raising questions as to whether the garbled words were as a result of fatigue or alcohol.

President Akufo-Addo turned 75 on Friday, 29th March 2019. The president was in the USA on a business trip. As part of activities, he paid a visit to the Havard Kennedy School of Government on his birthday where students sang for him to celebrate with him.
