‘Dumsor’ vigil a wake-up call for Energy Minister – Afenyo-Markin

Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has expressed support for actress Yvonne Nelson's #DumsorMustStop vigil, believing it will prompt Energy Minister Matthew Opoku Prempeh to address Ghana's power outages.

Nelson led the protest on June 8, starting at the University of Ghana and ending at the Tetteh Quarshie roundabout, despite initial police resistance.

During a laptop distribution event in Effutu, Afenyo-Markin assured teachers that the government is working to resolve the power issues.

He emphasized that, despite regional power challenges, Ghana's situation is improving and the protest serves as a crucial reminder for the energy sector.
