EC cancels Yasarko contract for Dec. 7 ballot printing

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has canceled its contract with Yasarko Printing Press Limited for printing ballot papers for the December 7 elections.

The printing duties have been reassigned to Buck Press Limited and Acts Commercials Limited for the Oti and Western North regions, respectively.

This decision, announced on October 25, 2024, follows concerns from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) about Yasarko's ability to handle the task impartially.

The EC emphasized its commitment to transparency and confirmed that the new printing firms will meet rigorous standards to ensure the security and accuracy of the ballots.
