The Electoral Commission (EC) has destroyed faulty ballot papers intended for the Ahafo and Volta Regions due to serialization errors.

The destruction, supervised by police and political party representatives, took place on November 21.

Upon identifying the defects, the EC halted the transfer of the flawed ballots and contracted Buck Press and Acts Commercials to print new, error-free ballots.

The EC dismissed claims that political parties discovered the issue, asserting that its internal quality control systems flagged the problem.

However, the NDC maintains that its representatives identified the defect.

This action is part of the EC's efforts to ensure a transparent and error-free election process for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
