Sources at the Electoral Commission (EC) have revealed that the EC does not plan to introduce any new Constitutional Instrument (CI) before Parliament ahead of the 2024 general election.
This contradicts claims made by former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, who warned that the elections could be at risk if Parliament is not immediately recalled to pass a CI, requiring 21 sitting days to mature.
Alexander Afenyo-Markin previously mentioned that the EC and the Judiciary were expected to present key CIs related to election regulations and petitions.
However, the EC has not confirmed any such plans.
