EOCO boss pays courtesy call on NLA

The Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) its Executive Director (COP) Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah and her team have paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of NLA Sammi Awuku.

The meeting was to exchange ideas for the mutual benefit of both parties.

Speaking at a brief meeting the Executive Director of EOCO, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah stated that it is EOCO's responsibility to ensure that the finances of all public institutions are in safe hands and in accordance with the Financial management regulations, hence the need for the Economic and Organized Crime Office to embark on this courtesy call to the NLA and to ensure that monies.

COP Maame Tiwaah mentioned prosecuting people who misappropriate or misapply public funds always costs the government a lot of money, so EOCO is using an alternative channel to educate public employees on how to follow financial management regulations and avoid being prosecuted.

Mr. Sammi Awuku, for his part, bemoaned the way and manner in which some unscrupulous individuals use images of NLA staff to perpetrate fraud against unsuspecting individuals.

He went on to say that the NLA has arrested ten(10) lotto fraudsters and is still on high alert.

The Director-General made an impassioned plea to the EOCO boss, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, to assist the Lottery Authority in dealing with this illegality as soon as possible in order to save the Authority and the nation millions of cedis.

He also promised that the NLA would continue to work with the EOCO, police, and other relevant security agencies to apprehend lotto fraudsters throughout the country.
