The Education Ministry will begin distributing free tablets to Senior High School students within two weeks, starting with Opoku Ware School in Kumasi.
This initiative, launched in March, aims to provide digital learning tools to all senior high and TVET schools nationwide. Opoku Ware School will become the first "smart school," featuring enhanced internet connectivity, solar panels, and ten smart boards.
The government plans to distribute 1.3 million tablets with various features, including a solar-based battery pack and water resistance.
The digitalized learning environment will include AI-marked assignments and digital textbooks with interactive hyperlinks.
