Ekow Ewusi’s suspension unjustified, baseless – Group to NPP

The Coalition of Concerned Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region has described as baseless and unjustified the suspension of the region’s 1st Vice Chairman, Horace Ekow Ewusi.

This is in reaction to the party’s decision to indefinitely relieve the Central Regional First Vice-Chairman of the party of his position.

Read full articleto the party, follows Mr Ewusi continuously ignoring directives from the party hierarchy in the region to respond to allegations of fraud by false pretence, jail break and auctioning and pocketing proceeds of excavators seized from illegal miners in a petition filed against him by one Edward Kraku Adum, also a party member.

But according to the group, the suspension was unfair because it is based on some “frivolous and vexations past misdeeds of the Vice Chair”.

To buttress their stance, the Concerned NPP members stated that upon further checks on the authenticity of the petitioner, it was discovered that Edward Okraku is a “faceless individual whose residential address do not exist either in digital or manual form”.

They are therefore shocked that the Regional Chairman, Robert Kutin Junior, decided to front for Okraku to suspend Ewusi on the basis that the 1st vice refused to respond to Okraku.



In a communique copied to the media, the group argued that the petition was addressed to the National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah, and “we feel the 1st Vice Chair was only responsible to the addresse, if invited and not the Regional Chairman or Kraku”.

The coalition has therefore petitioned the National Executive Committee to rescind their decision adding that the allegations made by Edward Kraku Adum were false and not backed by any evidence.
