Election 2024: 85% of Ghanaians want Free SHS maintained – Afrobarometer Report

As Ghana approaches elections, a recent Afrobarometer report reveals public support for key government programs, including the Free Senior High School initiative (85%) and Planting for Food and Jobs (81%).

However, there is strong opposition to the electronic transactions levy, with 79% wanting its discontinuation.

Economic concerns dominate, with unemployment identified as the top issue (41%) and rising poverty affecting 82% of citizens.

As dissatisfaction with government performance grows, Ghanaians seek continuity in popular programs while demanding policy shifts to address economic hardships and essential services.
