The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called for peaceful, issue-based campaigns ahead of Ghana's December 7 elections.
Speaking during a visit by Kofi Akpaloo, Presidential Candidate of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Otumfuo urged political parties to avoid divisive rhetoric and focus on policies that promote unity and progress.
He emphasized the importance of patience, prayer, and constructive dialogue, describing elections as a testament to Ghana’s democratic maturity.
Akpaloo, in turn, praised measures by the U.S. Embassy to deny visas to individuals inciting electoral violence and urged European nations to adopt similar sanctions.
He encouraged Ghanaians to accept electoral outcomes peacefully while monitoring results to ensure transparency.
