The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has clarified its role, emphasizing it does not appoint the president but merely declares the voters' choice.
Chairperson Jean Mensa, during a recent IPAC meeting, urged political parties to avoid spreading misinformation about the EC’s authority.
She reiterated that the responsibility lies solely with the electorate to choose their leader, and the EC's commitment to neutrality and fairness will remain steadfast in the upcoming 2024 elections.
