The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declined to sign a peace pact led by the Peace Council for the December 7 elections, citing concerns over lack of fairness.

While NDC’s flagbearer, John Mahama, reiterated his commitment to peace, the party believes the Peace Council has not created an inclusive environment for all political parties.

NDC Deputy General Secretary Mustapha Gbande stressed that institutions like the police, Electoral Commission, military, and national security must remain neutral to ensure a peaceful and transparent election.

He criticized the Peace Council's lack of action on past electoral violence, questioning its impartiality.
