The Ghana Police Service has assured the media of its commitment to ensuring their safety during the 2024 General Elections.
This assurance was made during a meeting on November 20, 2024, led by Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, where he emphasized the media’s vital role in the election process.
He announced the introduction of liaison officers for media houses across the country to improve communication and security.
Additionally, a toll-free contact line will be available for the public to report issues to the Police.
IGP Dampare urged journalists to uphold accuracy and avoid misinformation, stressing the importance of a peaceful and secure election, which reflects Ghana's democratic strength.
