Elections not about cutting heads - Omane Boamah

Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has advised Ghanaians to adopt the guiding principles and rules of the elections and abide by them, to ensure the country enjoys a violence free election during the Wednesday polls.

Speaking to the media during his section with meet-the-press in Accra, he stated that; “Elections are not about cutting of heads but are about counting the heads,” You must take the guiding principles and rules of the elections and abide by them to ensure peace during this period.

Assuring the general public of the preparedness of the security agencies to deal with any violence or disruption during and after the December elections, the minister guaranteed security agencies would take swift actions against any individual or group of people who would disturb the peace of the country on Election Day.

He urged all eligible voters to go out on December 7 to vote for their choice of candidate devoid of fear or stigmatization.

He also advised the public to go out to vote massively for President Mahama for another four-years to enable him complete projects he had started, adding that government has set in motion numerous developmental projects the government was undertaking which, he said, would bring more jobs to the people.
