The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has declared a 3.02% increase in electricity tariffs and a 1.06% rise in water tariffs, effective October 1, 2024.
This adjustment is attributed to factors such as inflation, exchange rate fluctuations, and rising gas prices.
In a statement, the PURC emphasized that the decision considered Ghana's economic challenges and the living conditions of its citizens.
The tariff increases will impact all consumer categories, reflecting the need for sustainability and competitiveness within the utility sectors.
