Electroland GH, Nasco Electronics GH and Homeland Store GH make cash donation to Chief Failatu Jah Bless

Failatu Jah Bless, the Ghanaian chef who is on her way to setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon has received further boost from three leading electronic companies in Ghana.

As Failatu switches gear to not only obliterate the existing cookathon record but also set one which will be difficult for anyone around the world to equal, electronic companies, Electroland GH, Nasco Electronics GH and Homeland Store GH have made significant financial donations to her.

The gesture which follows up an earlier donation of electronic appliances and kitchen wares is meant to revivify and motivate the now famous chef and her team in their bid to exceed the initial targeted period of 120 hours.

During the donation, reps of Electroland GH, Nasco Electronics GH and Homeland Store GH commended Chef Failatu and her team and urged them to continue as they have the support of the entire country.

The cash donation is aimed at enabling the chef recruit more supporting hands also foot the cost of the expenditure that will arise out of her decision to now end the cooking marathon on January 10.

In a statement, the companies said “We wish Faila well in good health and mental fortitude to do this.”

Today marks day 7 of her attempt, having started her quest to break the current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon – cook-a-thon – on Monday, January 1, 2024.

She was initially aiming to clock a 120-hour cook-a-thon with the event being held at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, however, she has extended the deadline to Wednesday, January 10, 2023, to put herself in a good position for the record.


She has enjoyed the backing of Ghanaians across the country who have trooped to the venue for the event to show their support.

Cook-a-thon became popular in 2023 after Nigerian chef Hilda Baci broke the then-world record. An Irish chef, however, overthrew her months later.
