Ensure that Ghana Publishing sells up-to-date law books – Judge to AG

A Justice of the Court of Appeal, Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei has called on the Attorney General to ensure that Ghana Publisher, the publisher in charge of printing legal documents in the country publishes up to date laws.

According to him, even though most of the laws or statutes in the country have been repealed, revoked and amended, records at the Ghana publishing do not reflect hence thwart efforts of lawyers in court.

Justice Adjei who was speaking in an interview after launching his fourth book dubbed “Criminal Procedure and Practice in Ghana” said the latest book has come to correct the anomalies in the system.

“The Attorney General should take up the mantle to ensure that Ghana publishing sells up to date statutes. Whenever the laws are repealed, revoked and amended the new laws should come to the notice of the AG and Ghana Publishing so that they can sell up to date books,” he stated.

Ms Gloria Afua Akuffo, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice while launching the book, said “I authors discussion on the roles and functions of the Attorney General on prosecution with profound interest.”

While commending the author for the magnificent feat, she encourage him not to rest on his oars but publish more books to help the state.

She appealed to the bench, bar and the general public as well as faculties to make the publication worthwhile by patronizing it and pledged to be one such example.

Justice Jones Victor Dotse, justice of the Supreme Court who was sharing his thought on the book said, the author work has “come to fill a void” that has been left for a long while Justice Dotes however recommended that book to all since it has been arranged to help learn the basics and application of the law.
