The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has expressed dissatisfaction with the GH¢93.9 million judgment debt awarded to Tobinco Pharmaceutical Limited.
The debt stems from a 2013 incident where the FDA seized and destroyed Tobinco's products over allegations of importing counterfeit drugs.
Tobinco later sued the FDA, claiming the authority abused its powers. Despite accusations that the current FDA leadership, under Dr. Delese Darko, failed to defend the case adequately, the FDA asserts it provided a robust defense and plans to appeal the ruling.
The authority remains committed to following due process in resolving the matter.
