FWSC orders CETAG to call off strike with immediate effect

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission has demanded that the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) end its strike immediately.

The Commission criticized CETAG's timing, citing ongoing government efforts to address their concerns.

The strike, which began on June 14, 2024, was called over delays in implementing the National Labour Commission's orders and service conditions.

The CEO of FWSC emphasized the government's goodwill and urged teachers to return to classrooms, calling the strike an act of bad faith. The President of the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education also criticized the strike, citing its disruptive impact on academic activities.
