Prolific writer, Fadi Dabbousi has launched yet another fiery book, titled ’59 Dark Hours – A free speech campaign’, detailing his grueling experience at the hands the Bureau of National Intelligence (BNI) when he was arrested in 2016.

The book was outdoored at the British Council in Accra on Tuesday, February 27 and is focused on championing free speech in the country.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Dabbousi said that the inspiration to write the book had been borne out of a desire to voice the extreme ‘dirtiness’ of the 2016 elections and supposed vilification of the personality of President Akufo Addo when he was still just a flagbearer of the NPP.
“The last straw to break the camel’s back was the nauseating feature article in Steve Mallory’s Africa Watch magazine. It was disgraceful, it was downright filthy and despicable.” he stated.
According to him, the actual events of the detention transpired over 62 hours but he needed the new title to complement his previous book and shortened the time three hours to fit the title.
The launch was attended largely by prominent NPP members and state officials including Hassan Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), former organiser of the NPP, Laud Commey, and Head of the National Identification Authority Professor Ken Attafuah.
Chairman of the launch was Dr Kingsley Nyarko, Executive Director of the Danquah Institute. A copy of Mr. Dabbousi’s new book sells at 50 cedis.
