Fake kidnap victim found hiding in girlfriend’s house fined by Bibiani Circuit Court

Kwadwo Kyei Amaning, a 31-year-old gold dealer who went missing and was later found hiding at his girlfriend’s house, was fined by the Bibiani Circuit Court.

Amaning who is physically challenged, was reported missing on May 11, 2024, causing his family great distress.

He was found after several days and was charged with causing fear and panic.

Amaning pleaded guilty and was fined GH¢600 or three months in prison. He paid the fine and signed a two-year good behavior bond, with a six-month prison sentence if breached.

He apologized to his family and Ghanaians, while his father urged forgiveness, noting his son’s remorse.
