President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has defended his administration against corruption accusations, asserting that combating corruption is a cornerstone of his tenure.
He highlighted the passage of the Right to Information Act (RTI) 2019 to promote transparency. Speaking at the commissioning of 'The Law House' on June 10, he emphasized the Act's role in fostering accountability.
Additionally, he noted the 2018 Witness Protection Act to protect those cooperating with law enforcement in corruption cases.
Akufo-Addo dismissed claims, notably from NDC's John Dramani Mahama, of being a "clearing agent," insisting he upholds due process and the rule of law to ensure fair investigations.
