The Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Abena Osei Asare, has informed Parliament that GH₵339 million has been released for the National Cathedral project to ensure necessary funding.
Despite the project stalling at the foundation level, she assured that there is value-for-money, citing a 2021 audit and ongoing statutory audits by Deloitte Ghana.
These audits cover accounts up to December 2020, with preparations to audit subsequent years. She emphasized transparency, stating that records show all payments made for the project.
The Ministry's initial contribution included land and seed money, as outlined in the previous year's budget.
