2020-02-23Freedom Centre to host Ablakwa, Kwesi Pratt Jnr to mark 54th anniversary of Nkrumah's overthrow

A group called Freedom Centre, on the campus of Ghana Institute of Journalism (G.I.J) will on Monday 24th February, 2020 organise a forum for students, media and the general public to commensurate the 54th year since Ghana's first President, DR. Kwame Nkrumah was overthrown from office in 1966.

The dialogue under the theme: 54 years after the overthrown of Kwame Nkrumah, how far with Ghana is expected to take place on Monday, 24th February, 2020 at 4pm in the Ghana Institute of Journalism’s lecture hall B1 and it will also be graced by representatives from 14 African countries.
The event will witness speakers such as, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Okudjeto Ablakwa, Dr. Mjiba Frehiwot, a Research Fellow at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, Legon and veteran Journalist and Editor-in-Chief for the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr.
Osagyefo's reign is still considered by many Ghanaians as the best reign in the history of this country. His successes in education, road infrastructure, industrialization and the like continue to be mentioned.
Among the many feats is the birth of the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
The organizers, GIJ Freedom Centre, is hereby inviting all students in and outside the institute, the media and the general public to come and witness this educative dialogue.
The programme is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM tomorrow.
