Fulani herdsmen do not deserve any compensation – NPP MP

NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for the Asante Akyem North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Andy Appiah Kubi has strongly stated that they [residents of Agogo land] should rather be asking the Fulani herdsmen to compensate them instead of them asking the government to do otherwise.

“I don’t and can’t understand the circumstances under which they agitate to be compensated. How can they scream for compensation after destroying our farm lands and causing harm to us in our own land?” he asked.

“The Fulani herdsmen should get it clear that there is no way government will pay them any reparation no matter where and how they carry the matter at hand. They should rather compensate us . . . ”, he said.

Explaining further on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ programme, Hon. Appiah Kubi noted that they will take advantage of the recent clashes between Fulani herdsmen and Konkonba farmers in the Kintampo North municipality of Brong-Ahafo Region, to totally get rid of the Fulani herdsmen out of their land forever.

“We will use every means available to us to get rid of the Fulani herdsmen completely from our land, we can’t continue to be their slaves in our own land”, he added.
