The President of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA), Cecil Thomas Sunkwa-Mills, has raised concerns over the hasty handling of the Broadcasting Bill, currently being pushed through as an emergency.
Speaking at the Joy Brands' national dialogue on Defending Media Freedom, Sunkwa-Mills criticized the urgency, noting that stakeholders only received the 58-page document three weeks ago, despite it being in development for over three years.
He argued that rushing the bill through without proper scrutiny is unfair and stressed the need for a thorough review before passing such critical legislation.
