Dr. Vishnu Nene Limon Abayateye has filed a petition to remove the President of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr. Frank Serebour.

The petition claims Dr. Serebour acted alone in directing members to keep working during a nationwide strike on October 10 without consulting the GMA’s leadership.

Dr. Abayateye argues that this decision goes against the GMA constitution and has hurt the association’s reputation.

The issue will be addressed at the GMA’s annual meeting in November, where members will vote on whether to support the petition.
