The Ghana National Association of Small-Scale Miners (GNASSM) has filed a defamation lawsuit against three individuals, Philip K. Bawah, Daniel Kwaku Mensah (DKM), and Yaw Amoafo, seeking GH₵500,000 in damages and an apology for alleged slanderous claims.
The plaintiffs, including GNASSM's president and vice-president, claim the defendants' publications were false, malicious, and intended to damage their reputation.
They seek a retraction, apology, and an injunction to stop further defamatory comments.
The lawsuit follows an emergency meeting where members rejected the defendants' claims, which they say do not represent the views of the association.
